Brow lamination and brow tinting get mentioned in the same breath a lot, and it's easy to assume they do the same thing. They don't — they solve two completely different brow problems, and understanding the difference will help you figure out which one (or both) is right for you.
Brow Lamination: Changing the Shape
Brow lamination isn't a wax and it isn't a color treatment — it's a chemically shaping treatment. It resets the direction your brow hairs naturally grow, brushing them up and over and holding them in a fuller, more uniform pattern for weeks at a time.
If you've ever wanted that fluffy, fully-brushed-up brow look without filling them in with pencil or gel every single morning, lamination is how you get it. It's especially useful if you have:
- Sparse or thin-looking brows that could use the appearance of more fullness
- Unruly, wiry, or hard-to-tame hairs that grow in different directions
- A daily routine that already includes brow gel or pencil you'd love to skip
During the service, your esthetician thoroughly cleanses the brow area first, removing oil, makeup, and buildup so the lamination solution has a clean surface to work with. The solution reshapes and sets the hair pattern, then a neutralizing step locks the new shape in place. You'll leave with a brow conditioner that needs to stay on for 24 hours to lock in your results and keep the hair healthy.
Brow Tinting: Changing the Color
Tinting doesn't touch the shape or direction of your brow hair at all — it adds color. Using a hybrid tint matched to your skin tone and natural hair color (not just the closest shade on the shelf), tinting adds depth and definition so your brows look fuller and more defined without looking obviously "done."
Tinting is the better fit if:
- Your brow hair is naturally light, sparse-looking, or doesn't show up much against your skin tone
- You want more definition without changing how your brows are shaped or lie
- You want a low-maintenance way to skip filling in your brows day to day, but your hair already lies the way you like it
Can You Do Both?
Yes — and pairing them is actually the most complete option we offer. Lamination sets the shape and fullness, tinting adds the color and definition, and together they give you the most low-maintenance, put-together brow result without changing your daily routine at all.

What to Expect and How to Prep
For either service, it helps to let your brows grow out a bit beforehand so there's enough shape to actually work with. For lamination specifically, come in with clean, product-free brows — the solution needs to bond directly to the hair, and oil or makeup residue gets in the way.
Aftercare
After lamination:
- Keep the brow conditioner on for a full 24 hours
- Avoid heavy sweat, steam, and water on the brows during that window
- Brush your brows up daily while wet afterward to help maintain the laminated shape
After tinting:
- Color will naturally soften over a few weeks — plan to refresh it periodically to keep the definition you want
Both services happen in our dedicated brow and face waxing room, separate from the rest of the studio, so you get a calm, focused space for a service where precision matters.
